Mary entered the medical field in 1983, graduating from Ocean County College. She started her career initially as a medical surgical/intensive care nurse in her home town of Brick, NJ. After several years of nursing and having a total love for medicine and patient care, Mary realized the role was becoming less focused on the actual patient care which was where her true passion lied.
Mary has always built strong relationships with physicians and coworkers as well as her patients and their families and loved the bonds she built with them. It was during the passing of her own father that a physician asked her to come help him in the office for the summer. Eight years later after taking on a variety of roles, ultimately became manager while continuing to work part time in the ICU. When the Physicians group broke up, Mary returned to her roots as a Charge Nurse in a Rehabilitation facility. Ms Martelloni served as the Director of VNACJ Federally Qualified Health Center, in Asbury Park, NJ, reveling in her love for patient care. During her tenure she assisted in securing a six hundred-thousand-dollar grant for a new facility.
At that time much of her family had moved south to Tennessee, so she decided to join them. She accepted a position as a compliance auditor for a national radiation oncology company. After several years of traveling the country helping medical businesses remain compliant, Mary accepted a position in Knoxville, TN as the director for an interventional pain management office and consulting company. In the summer of 2010 Mary decided the time had come to open her own consulting company, and later partnered with the owner of a Baltimore based pain management company, which, under her direction, grew to be one of the largest in the Baltimore area.
Ms Martelloni is a certified biller and coder since 2005, and has certification in advanced billing for the field of interventional pain management. Throughout her career, she has helped dozens of physicians on compliance and billing while never losing site of the patient care aspect. In October 2016, Mary was thrilled to join Maryland Pain Centers as a lead consultant where the focus of quality patient care is the most important attribute.
